Dates

UGAHacks CADathon will take place Saturday, October 24th - Sunday, October 25th, 2026. Check-in starts at 9AM, with opening ceremony starting at 10:30AM on October 24th. The closing ceremony will be at 8PM on Sunday, October 25th. Check out our schedule!

Eligibility

  • You must be a registered university student/graduate student at the University of Georgia to participate 

  • Teams must be made up of 4 or fewer members to qualify for judging 

    • Solo projects are allowed 

Project and Submission Requirements

  • No cross-submitting (submitting a project from a concurrent competition)

  • You may submit to multiple tracks 

  • No designing before competition time starts

    • Hacking time starts at 11AM on Oct. 24th and ends 4:00 PM on Oct 25th  

  • Must submit project through Devpost to be considered for judging

  • Must include First and Last Names of all team members in submission  

  • Must submit relevant Design Files 

  • Must include 2-3 minute long demo video showcasing completed project

    • Clearly demonstrate project and design decisions

    • Include names of all team members

    • State tools and software utilized to create the project

    • Demonstrate final design and functionality

    • Problems that your team ran into and how your team overcame them

    • Credit any public resources utilized including APIs, frameworks, libraries, models, or other third party resources

  • Only 1 project per team/person 

    • Teams are allowed to submit to multiple challenges 

  • Judging will be conducted virtually, but in person expo will be available for teams who would like to showcase their projects

    • Judging will not depend on Expo attendance. Judges will evaluate submissions based on materials provided through Devpost

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

Virtual Judging

CADathon projects will be judged virtually based on the materials submitted through Devpost. Teams do not need to attend the optional Expo to be eligible for judging. 

 

Judges will evaluate each project based on the following criteria: 

  • Design & Creativity: How creative, innovative, and thoughtfully designed is the project?

  • Functionality: How effectively does the design accomplish its intended purpose?

  • Engineering & Technical Execution: How well does the project demonstrate engineering principles, technical skill, and attention to detail?

  • Problem Solving: How effectively did the team address challenges and constraints during the design process?

  • Presentation: How clearly does the Devpost submission and demo video communicate the project and its design?

Judges will review eligible submissions that have met all required submission guidelines. Projects that do not meet the submission requirements may be disqualified from judging. 

Optional Expo

Teams may optionally showcase their projects at the CADathon Expo. The Expo is intended as an opportunity for participants to display their work, interact with other attendees, and celebrate their designs.

Expo participation is not required and will not affect a team's judging or eligibility.

Winner Selection

Winning projects will be selected for each track based on the judging criteria above. Winners will be announced during the UGAHacks Closing Ceremony.
